Power Tech is seeking an experienced accounting professional to serve as a Fractional Staff Accountant, providing ongoing accounting support on an indefinite basis. This role will ensure continuity of critical accounting, payroll, reporting, and compliance functions while partnering closely with leadership and cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on accountant who can quickly learn existing processes, maintain accurate financial records, support month‑end close activities, and ensure day‑to‑day accounting operations continue seamlessly.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Complete daily, weekly, and month‑end accounting activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Analyze financial results and investigate discrepancies to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain the general ledger and support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Reconcile bank accounts, customer accounts, vendor accounts, and other balance sheet accounts.
- Assist with forecasting and budgeting activities by providing financial data and analysis.
- Produce recurring financial reports and dashboards to support business decision‑making.
- Support payroll processing and verify payroll accuracy through existing systems, including ADP.
- Maintain employee payroll records, benefit deductions, and 401(k) contributions.
- Prepare and file required state and federal tax filings in compliance with applicable regulations.
- Monitor cash flow activity and support timely payment of vendors, taxes, and other business obligations.
- Support billing, collections, and receivables activities related to commercial properties.
- Maintain Certificates of Insurance (COIs), W-9 documentation, and other required accounting records.
- Respond to accounting‑related requests from leadership, employees, customers, and vendors.
- Support accounting system maintenance and troubleshoot issues as needed.
- Document key processes and assist with knowledge transfer activities to ensure a smooth transition before and after the leave period.
- Partner with cross‑functional teams to ensure continuity of accounting operations and financial reporting.
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
- 5+ years of accounting experience.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, AP/AR, and financial reporting.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Experience with Quick Books.
- Experience with ADP payroll systems.
- Experience supporting multi‑entity or construction/service‑based businesses.
- Ability to learn existing processes quickly and provide seamless operational support.
- Ability to remain in a stationary position (e.g., seated at a desk) for extended periods of time.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, handling documents, and operating office equipment (e.g., computer, phone, copier, fax).
- Ability to move about the office to access files, supplies, office equipment, and assist visitors.
- Occasional lifting or moving of items up to 25 pounds (e.g., office supplies, packages).
- Clear vision and hearing required for reading documents, computer work, and communicating effectively in person and via phone.
- Ability to speak clearly and be understood in one‑on‑one conversations and during phone calls.
