Job SummaryThe Manager, Tax is responsible for ensuring the company’s compliance with U.S. tax laws and regulations, assisting in filing obligations, and supporting the preparation of the quarterly and annual tax provision. The role works across federal, state, local tax, and ASC
740 obligations and collaborates with cross‑functional teams and external auditors.
- Prepare and file corporate federal income tax returns and related work papers; prepare quarterly federal estimated tax payments.
- Research and analyze transactions of an unusual nature as they arise.
- Ensure timely filing to meet all tax compliance obligations.
- Determine 1099‑MISC taxable amounts for the members of the board of directors and file federal withholding forms and related deposits.
- Prepare corporate state income tax returns and related work papers; prepare quarterly state estimated tax payments.
- Monitor and implement law changes in relevant jurisdictions; review nexus activities for tax compliance.
- File Nebraska withholding forms and related board deposits.
- Compile and review tax accounting work papers on a quarterly basis; collect, analyze, and evaluate data for ASC
740 calculations. - Prepare quarterly reconciliation work papers used in ASC
740 analysis and compile footnote disclosures for the company’s financial statements. - Provide audit documentation to external auditors.
- Utilize tax, analytical, and problem‑solving skills in a small team environment, focusing on continuous improvement and lean processes.
- Travel up to 5% domestically, including overnight stays.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a relevant field with6+years of experience, or an Associate’s Degree with8+years of experience, or a total of10+years of experience; 6+years in a corporate tax department or public accounting firm.
- Working knowledge of federal, state, local tax laws and ASC
740. - Ability to work under constant deadlines and prioritize workload.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Energetic and self‑motivated team player who collaborates effectively with the tax team and larger accounting teams.
- Advanced knowledge of MSExcel.
- Advanced degree (MBA, MSA, or equivalent).
- CPA, CPA‑equivalent, or JD.
- Experience with Corptax and One Source tax provision software.
- Work is performed in an office setting with typical ergonomic requirements; occasional lifting of up to 15lb.
- Rapid‑paced environment demanding frequent problem‑solving and close to no interruptions.
- Up to 5% domestic travel, including overnight stays.
