Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Controller to lead our accounting team and help ensure the financial strength and continued success of our organization. Responsibilities- Lead and oversee all daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and close processes.
- Maintain compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and internal financial controls.
- Partner with leadership to develop budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for operational improvement.
- Manage daily cash activities, fund transfers, and the organization's short-term investment portfolio.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team through hiring, training, coaching, and performance management.
- Drive process improvements and implement system enhancements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, tax advisors, and internal stakeholders.
- Present financial analysis, recommendations, and key performance insights to executive leadership.
- Maintain the highest standards of confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical financial practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience.
- At least 3 years of supervisory or management experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including more than 40 hours per week when business needs require.
- Experience in the architecture, engineering, or construction (AEC) industry.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as Ajera and Vantagepoint.
