In this role, you’ll own the accuracy and integrity of key financial records, drive timely month‑end close outcomes, and influence process improvements that strengthen reporting and decision‑making. Your work will create confidence in our financial results, enable business performance, and help shape the future of commerce through trusted financial stewardship.
What you’ll ownDrive accurate and timely financial reporting by ensuring accounting records align with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), regulatory requirements, and Global Payments policies.
Own the preparation and review of journal entries that support reliable financial results and strengthen reporting integrity.
Deliver accurate general ledger reconciliations, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues through detailed analysis that protects financial accuracy.
Influence month‑end close success by driving completion of key accounting activities while maintaining quality, accuracy and deadlines.
Build strong partnerships across departments to improve financial transparency, strengthen processes, and enable better business decisions.
Develop a deep understanding of operational processes behind assigned accounts and use that insight to improve financial outcomes.
Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes, recommend improvements, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Contribute to audit readiness and special projects that strengthen controls, support business objectives and create long‑term value for Global Payments.
What you bringBachelor's degree in accounting or finance and 3 to 4 years of accounting experience.
Knowledge of public accounting principles and practices, with a strong understanding of financial reporting fundamentals.
Experience analyzing financial data, identifying issues and applying critical thinking to develop effective solutions.
Strong organizational, communication, and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
A proactive, detail‑oriented, and results‑focused approach, with the ability to work independently while contributing to team success.
A positive, adaptable mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement, collaboration, and delivering excellent internal client experiences.
Preferred qualificationsExperience with Oracle Financial software.
Experience in the credit‑card processing or bank‑card industry.
5 years of general ledger accounting experience.
