About The Role
The Merchandiser Assistant I is responsible for supporting proper accounting & control procedures, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and adherence to all company and division policies and procedures. This role assists with vendor management related to A/P and A/R, including invoice management and statement reconciliation, and serves as a key point of contact for routine vendor communications. The successful candidate will be able to work both independently and as part of a team, demonstrate strong attention to detail, and communicate in a professional, customer service–focused manner with customers and suppliers.

- Partner with Merchandisers and Controllers to provide timely and accurate records for product and freight positions
- Deliver excellent service to our customers and vendors, including timely processing of payments and resolution of any problems
- Actively monitor and create Account Receivables, Account Payables, Freight Analysis, and other miscellaneous reports on a daily/weekly basis and resolve any issues
- Maintain an organized digital filing system which includes invoices, contracts, reports and payment receipts
- Reconcile inventory balances with 3rd party locations monthly
- High school diploma or GED required (Associates preferred)
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Proactively recommend process efficiencies and creative solutions
- Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Proven organization skills and prioritization of multiple tasks
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to handle confidential materials
- Understanding of basic accounting principals, especially account payables
- Knowledge of commodities, agricultural industry experience
- 2 years of office experience
