Role DescriptionThe Staff Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in Omaha, NE. This role is responsible for day-to-day accounting activities, including processing accounts payable and receivable, posting journal entries, reconciling bank and general ledger accounts, and supporting month-end and year-end close procedures. The Staff Accountant will assist with financial reporting, maintaining accurate records, and preparing supporting documentation for audits and tax filings.
The role also involves collaborating with internal departments on budget tracking, cost analysis, and process improvements to ensure timely, accurate financial information. This position may support the implementation and optimization of accounting systems and tools used by the finance team.
- Strong general accounting knowledge, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Experience with financial reporting, month-end and year-end close processes, and basic budgeting and forecasting.
- Proficiency with accounting and ERP/financial software, as well as Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet tools.
- Solid analytical, problem-solving, and numerical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or progress toward certification is a plus.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, technology, or scientific products environment is beneficial.
