Brownell Talbot, founded in 1863, is a Nebraska state‑approved preschool through grade 12 school and member of NAIS and ISACS.
Position SummaryThe Receptionist / Administrative Assistant to the Lower School Dean and Activity Director plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth daily operations of the Lower School. This position is often the first point of contact for families, visitors, and vendors, and requires a warm, professional, and highly organized individual who thrives in a dynamic school environment.
Responsibilities- Provide administrative and front‑office support to the Lower School Dean and Activity Director
- Answer and direct internal and external phone calls; greet and assist visitors, families, and vendors
- Maintain the school bulletin, calendar, student records, and daily Lower School attendance
- Assist with scheduling and coordinate field‑trip transportation
- Support school programs, including the Raider Market
- Print, file, and transfer student records and report cards
- Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree - Minimum of five years of administrative experience
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and computer skills
- Positive attitude
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Collaborative, cooperative, and collegial mindset
- Able to sit, stand, type, twist, and bend
- Able to use computers and laptops
- Able to lift 25–50 lbs.
- Able to speak, hear, and have manual and finger dexterity
