Position Summary

Responsible for assisting with a wide range of budgetary activities related to the administration and management of multiple grants (federal, industry, state, non‑profit) in the College of Dentistry with supervision and guidance. This will include preparation, continuation, and expansion of budget requests; year‑end close‑out grant management and reconciliation, and cost allocation.

Required Qualifications

Education: Not specified (NA)

Experience (minimum 2 years): Increasingly responsible administrative support to include accounting/budgeting and some experience with research grants administration.

Computer Applications: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal communication.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize projects.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff.
Preferred Qualifications

Education: Business, Public Administration, Finance or related field.

Experience (Preferred):

  • Knowledge of Uniform Guidance and/or the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
  • Experience with electronic research administration systems (e.g., grants.gov, research.gov, NSPIREs, and eRA Commons).
  • Experience in sponsored program administration.

License / Certification: Certified Research Administrator (CRA) certification.

Computer Applications: SAP, Microsoft Outlook.

Additional

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret and apply Uniform Guidance guidelines.
  • Experience preparing cost reports and budgets for sponsored projects.
