Executive Assistant & Governance CoordinatorNebraska Medicine seeks an exceptional Executive Assistant & Governance Coordinator to serve as a trusted partner to our Chief Legal Officer and executive leadership team. The role operates at the center of executive operations and corporate governance—managing complex priorities, coordinating Board and Committee activities, safeguarding confidential information, and ensuring seamless execution of strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities- Provide proactive, professional, strategic executive support to Chief and Vice President level leaders.
- Anticipate needs, manage priorities and coordinate high-level projects through timely and accurate completion.
- Serve as a trusted partner and liaison between the executive and key stakeholders including direct reports, senior leadership, board members, community donors, and external partners.
- Prepare high‑quality correspondence, reports, presentations, screens and prioritize calls and communications.
- Manage complex calendars and support the overall operational and strategic effectiveness of the executive office.
- Operate with limited supervision, exercising independent judgment, problem‑solving and strategic thinking in the execution of duties.
- Support governance work of the Board of Directors and Board Committees under the direction of the Chief Legal Officer.
- Maintain all corporate governance records, ensuring meeting minutes, resolutions and other board records are complete and available for inspection.
- Familiarity with corporate bylaws and other governing documents; prepare, assemble and securely distribute board books and materials.
- Plan and coordinate the governance calendar; draft Board and committee meeting minutes and oversee the review and approval cycle.
- Administer the board portal (e.g., Diligent) and user access, and maintain member rosters, attendance records, conflict of interest disclosures, term/committee assignments, onboarding materials and governance education records.
- Support the Chief Legal Officer in preparing board resolutions, bylaws amendments and other documents for board action.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in an executive office or law firm supporting top‑level executives or attorneys.
- Corporate governance experience required.
- High school education or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s degree OR paralegal degree OR equivalent combination (one year of education equals one year of experience) required.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) required.
- Proficiency and aptitude for board portal applications and other related software.
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal, including correct use of grammar, spelling, punctuation and business correspondence formats.
- Ability to compose routine correspondence, minutes, reports and other documents.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and tasks.
- Ability and maturity to manage highly sensitive and confidential information.
- Strong critical thinking, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
- Basic knowledge of business contracts and an understanding of corporate documents.
- Team‑oriented attitude with a positive, can‑do mindset.
- Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with management, staff, physicians and other stakeholders.
- Professionalism, business judgment, tact and diplomacy.
- Candidate must live in Nebraska or Iowa.
- This is not a hybrid position; 100% on campus.

- Legal background preferred.
- Preferred consideration for applicants with a legal background.
