We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Procurement Buyer to join our team. The Procurement Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods, materials, services, and equipment that meet the organization’s quality, cost, and delivery requirements. This role plays a key part in optimizing supply chain efficiency, managing supplier relationships, and contributing to cost savings while ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Responsibilities- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, delivery schedules, and payment conditions to achieve the best total value while maintaining quality standards.
- Place purchase orders, monitor order status, and expedite deliveries as needed to prevent production or operational delays.
- Manage supplier relationships, including performance evaluation, issue resolution, and development of long-term partnerships.
- Analyze purchasing data, track spend, and identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, ethical standards, legal requirements, and relevant regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, supplier information, and pricing.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in inventory management to optimize stock without over-purchasing.
- Prepare reports on purchasing activities, savings achieved, supplier performance, and market trends for management review.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
- 2–5+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or buying roles (experience in food manufacturing preferred).
- Strong negotiation and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Proven ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make cost-effective decisions.
- Proficiency with procurement/ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Knowledge of supply chain principles, contract management, and supplier evaluation methods.
- Some travel may be required (minimal).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- High ethical standards and commitment to compliance and integrity in procurement.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
- Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and cost optimization.
