AboutThis Role
Senior Preconstruction Manager – responsible for nurturing and cultivating relationships with General Contractors and Owners, facilitating seamless collaboration throughout the preconstruction and building phases. The role includes mentoring and providing training and development plans to team members, ensuring individuals meet and exceed goals. Expertise in electrical preconstruction, team leadership, and dedication will be vital in ensuring the successful execution of projects and fostering long‑lasting partnerships that drive IME’s continued success.
Key Responsibilities- Preconstruction Process:
Manage the preconstruction stage of electrical construction projects, creating and maintaining documents that track scope and cost changes, and regularly participate in design meetings. - Strategy Development:
Present fully vetted initiatives with accurate due diligence and risk assessment, demonstrating integrity and ethics with internal and external stakeholders. - Compliance & Communication:
Review drawings, specifications and all construction documents, communicate issues and risks, and resolve design and pre‑bid issues with vendors, suppliers, GCs, and customers. - Collaboration:
Work across the preconstruction team and other departments, supporting the Project Management team during the construction phase. - Industry Networking:
Act as a brand ambassador for IME, promoting its values and expertise while building relationships with general contractors.
- Strong understanding of electrical construction in large‑scale commercial environments.
- Knowledge of building construction, materials, systems, market conditions, and trade practices.
- Experience leading and managing a team.
- Proficient computer skills:
Microsoft Office, Primavera, Bluebeam, Accubid/Live Count. - Excellent communication: articulate messages, persuade, explain complex information, and negotiate.
- Ability to develop and maintain long‑term relationships with clients, GCs and vendors.
- Impeccable integrity and ethics with stakeholders.
- Developed and trended cost estimates for large commercial electrical projects ranging from $5M to $50M.
- Consistently achieved and exceeded company goals.
- Built and maintained client relationships.
- Proven track record of increasing bookings year to year.
- Created and assisted in forecast budgets.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of experience in a preconstruction or related role.
The majority of the time you will work in an office environment with occasional on‑site visits, which may involve extreme temperatures, noise, dust, mud, welding, trenching, and confined space work. You may be required to visit multiple locations in a single day.

Salary Range$127,500 – $172,500
