Job Description & How to Apply Below

Construction Safety Consulting | Omaha, NE (Travel to Job Sites Required)

If you’ve spent your career on construction sites - not behind a desk - and know how to command respect while keeping people safe, keep reading.

We’re looking for a Field Safety Specialist to partner directly with our clients across active construction projects. This isn’t a clipboard-only role. You’ll be in the field - walking sites, training crews, and stepping in when something doesn’t look right.

What You’ll Actually Do

You’ll be the go-to safety expert on-site, working with contractors, GCs, and client teams to keep projects moving safely and efficiently.

In the field:

  • Conduct job site safety audits (planned + unannounced)
  • Identify hazards and hold teams accountable to OSHA and site standards
  • Review JHAs, AHAs, and pre-task plans

Training & coaching:

  • Lead OSHA training, toolbox talks, and safety orientations
  • Deliver CPR/First Aid/AED certification training
  • Train and certify operators on lifts, forklifts, and other equipment

When things go sideways:

  • Respond to incidents and near misses
  • Lead investigations and determine root cause
  • Support clients through OSHA inspections and audits

Beyond the job site:

  • Help clients build and improve safety programs
  • Act as a trusted advisor, not just an enforcer
  • Provide real-world, practical safety guidance that actually sticks
What It Takes

This role isn’t for everyone. You’ll do well here if you:

  • Have 5+ years in construction safety (not general industry)
  • Hold OSHA 500 & 510 certifications
  • Can train crews and communicate clearly, both on-site and in reports
  • Know OSHA 29 CFR 1926 like it’s your playbook
  • Are comfortable working in active construction environments (heights, weather, mud, all of it)
What Gives You an Edge
  • CHST, CSP, ASP, or STS-C certifications
  • Experience across multiple job sites or clients
  • Additional equipment certifications (rigging, crane, etc.)
What This Role Is (and Isn’t)
  • Field-based, hands-on, high-impact
  • Client-facing and relationship-driven
  • A mix of enforcement, coaching, and problem-solving
  • Not internal-only safety
  • Not for someone new to construction
  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Ongoing training and certification support
