Job Description
You will oversee multiple active construction and data center projects, floating between job sites to promote a strong safety culture and ensure regulatory compliance. This role partners closely with field teams across civil, site, and vertical construction environments to coach crews on best practices, conduct inspections, and drive continuous improvement in safety performance. The position is offered as a 12‑month contract with a high probability of extension and potential conversion to a direct role.
Responsibilities
* Assist in planning, implementing, and enforcing safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA, and other applicable regulations.
* Conduct regular jobsite safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments across multiple construction and data center sites.
* Identify safety risks and recommend corrective and preventive actions, tracking follow-through to ensure completion and effectiveness.
* Lead incident and accident investigations, perform root cause analysis, and prepare detailed written reports.
* Support the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of company safety programs and processes.
* Deliver safety training sessions and toolbox talks to field teams, reinforcing safe work practices and regulatory requirements.
* Coach and influence field crews on safe behaviors, hazard recognition, and proper use of equipment and protective measures.
* Maintain accurate safety documentation, logs, and compliance records in accordance with regulatory and company standards.
* Partner with project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors to drive accountability and adherence to safety expectations.
* Inspect equipment, vehicles, and job sites regularly to verify safe working conditions and proper safeguards.
* Accompany personnel through post-incident protocols and follow-up activities as needed.
* Collaborate with field and project leadership to address site work risks such as excavation, utilities, grading, slip and fall hazards, and heavy equipment operations.
* Travel between multiple project locations to provide consistent safety oversight and support.
Essential Skills
* At least 3 years of construction safety experience.
* OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification (required).
* Ability to obtain CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician) certification within the first few months of employment.
* Hands-on experience in field or site work environments, such as grading, utilities, civil or site development, or large-scale construction projects.
* Strong understanding of site work risks, including excavation, utilities, grading, slip and fall hazards, and heavy equipment operations.
* Proven ability to influence, coach, and build strong working relationships with field crews and site personnel.
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage documentation, inspections, and reporting across multiple sites.
* Solid reporting and written communication skills for preparing incident reports and safety documentation.
* Knowledge of OSHA and other applicable safety regulations relevant to construction and site work.
* Demonstrated ability to conduct safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments in active construction environments.

* Exposure to large commercial, infrastructure, or data center construction projects is a plus.
* Experience working on complex, multi-phase construction sites is beneficial.
* Experience supporting or improving safety programs and initiatives across multiple projects.
* Comfort working in both civil/site and vertical construction environments.
* Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors.
* Self-motivated, proactive approach to identifying risks and driving corrective actions.
Work Environment
The role is field-based and involves overseeing multiple active construction and data center sites in the Omaha and Council Bluffs area. You will travel between different project locations, including data centers and large-scale infrastructure sites, to provide on-site safety oversight and support. The work is primarily performed outdoors and on active construction sites, with exposure to typical construction conditions such as heavy equipment, excavation areas, utilities work, and varying weather.
The typical schedule consists of five weekdays plus a half-day on Saturday, with flexibility when needed and eligibility for overtime. The environment is fast-paced and collaborative, with close interaction with field crews, project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors. On some sites, breakfast and lunches are occasionally provided, contributing to a supportive and team-oriented atmosphere. Appropriate construction-site attire and personal protective equipment are required in all field locations.
