What You'll DoAs the General Contracting Superintendent, you will serve as the on-site leader responsible for driving project execution from groundbreaking through completion. You will coordinate subcontractors, field personnel, and self-perform operations while ensuring every aspect of the project is delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading all day-to-day field operations on federal construction projects
- Managing subcontractors, self-perform crews, and field engineering staff
- Developing and maintaining project schedules while identifying and mitigating schedule risks
- Driving a world-class safety culture and ensuring OSHA and project compliance
- Coordinating inspections, permits, quality control, and project logistics
- Managing General Requirements and General Conditions (GR/GC) budgets
- Reviewing work to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and contract documents
- Resolving field issues and coordinating solutions with project stakeholders
- Overseeing Work-in-Place (WIP) reporting, subcontractor billing, and project documentation
- Building strong relationships with owners, trade partners, inspectors, and project teams
- Mentoring field engineers, interns, and assistant superintendents while helping develop future construction leaders
We're searching for a Superintendent who has the leadership ability to manage complex construction operations while maintaining exceptional safety, quality, and client satisfaction.
Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Building Construction, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 4+ years of Superintendent or field leadership experience with a general contractor
- Experience managing federal, government, military, or secure facility construction projects is highly preferred
- Strong understanding of scheduling, construction engineering, estimating, procurement, contract administration, and project controls
- Extensive knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety best practices
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and contract documents
- Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software
- Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on operational excellence
