Structural Concrete Superintendent

Heartland Concrete & Construction is seeking an experienced Structural Concrete Superintendent to lead complex cast-in-place concrete work throughout Omaha and the surrounding region. This position requires regular travel to assigned project sites, including overnight stays when project needs require. The Superintendent oversees multiple Foremen and crews performing foundations, formed walls, columns, piers, elevated decks, and other engineered concrete structures. The Superintendent is responsible for safe, productive, and high-quality field execution through every phase of forming, reinforcing, placing, stripping, and finishing.

• Lead structural CIP concrete operations across assigned commercial projects.
• Coordinate multiple Foremen and crews through forming, reinforcing, placing, stripping, and finishing.
• Develop daily and weekly work plans based on form cycling, pour sequencing, and project milestones.
• Plan and oversee complex formwork for walls, columns, pilasters, elevated decks, stairs, and architectural concrete.
• Verify formwork, shoring, bracing, reinforcing steel, embeds, blockouts, sleeves, anchor bolts, and layout before placement.
• Plan concrete placement methods, pour rates, lift heights, construction joints, equipment, concrete supply, and project logistics.
• Monitor labor productivity, forming and stripping rates, schedule performance, and upcoming project risks.
• Lead project-level safety planning for formwork, elevated work, cranes, rigging, pumps, and concrete placement.
• Ensure work complies with project drawings, specifications, manufacturer requirements, and applicable ACI tolerances.
• Proactively prevent formwork blowouts, honeycombing, cold joints, and out-of-tolerance work.
• Coordinate with Project Management, General Contractors, Safety, Logistics, suppliers, testing agencies, and trade partners.
• Maintain accurate Procore documentation, including daily logs, progress photos, pour records, delays, inspections, and field issues.
• Mentor Foremen and develop strong, accountable field teams.

• Five or more years of commercial concrete experience with a strong focus on structural cast-in-place walls and structures.
• Demonstrated expertise with complex formwork systems and large structural concrete pours.
• Proven experience leading multiple Foremen and concrete crews.
• Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, specifications, formwork drawings, and reinforcing steel shop drawings.
• Experience with structural pour planning, form cycling, reinforcing steel, embeds, stripping, curing, patching, and architectural concrete finishes.
• Strong leadership, planning, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• OSHA 30 certification required.
• ACI certification and Procore experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability and willingness to travel regularly to assigned project sites, including overnight stays as required. Travel frequency and duration will vary based on project location and operational needs.

This is an active field-leadership position requiring regular jobsite walking, climbing, and work in varying weather conditions.
