The Lead Graphic Designer is the creative heartbeat of Flagship’s visual world. This role leads our in-house design team with a deep passion for brands, is obsessed with restaurant branding, has a commitment to innovation, and is always pushing creative boundaries. They mentor a talented team of designers and visual storytellers, championing collaboration, growth, and a shared love for great design.
The Lead Graphic Designer brings fresh perspective and bold thinking to everything they touch, from high-impact campaigns to the everyday moments that shape the guest experience. This role owns the creative requests, keeps project flow moving with clarity, and works cross-functionally to ensure every visual feels thoughtful, elevated, and uniquely Flagship. They’re not afraid to take risks, try something unexpected, and raise the bar on what great design can look like in hospitality.
CORERESPONSIBILITIES Brand Leadership & Visual Direction
- Leads design for concepting and creative execution for all new and enhanced Flagship restaurant brands
- Guides visual identity development including logos, color palettes, typography, tone, and collateral
- Maintains consistency across brands while evolving designs based on audience, market, and business needs
- Oversees all brand enhancement projects, from seasonal campaigns to long-term refreshes
- Serves as the final design eye on high-priority projects and branded content
- Mentors and coaches the Creative Operations Designer and Multi
- Media Designer - Provides clear feedback, creative direction, and growth-focused development
- Empowers team members to take ownership of their work and expand their creative skill sets
- Fosters a culture of curiosity, excellence, and continuous learning
- Manages the Creative Request Board, assigning projects based on skillset, timelines, and capacity
- Works very closely with operations and culinary teams on bringing restaurant creative ideas to life
- Maintains workflow clarity, protects creative time, and ensures deadlines are met
- Provides design guidance and support on collateral, menus, campaign materials, digital assets, and in-restaurant signage
- Supports and guides the Creative Operations Designer in menu reconfiguration, material sourcing, and production execution
- Reviews final menu layouts, signage, and operational materials to ensure brand alignment and readability
- Ensures restaurant-level tools and resources reflect Flagship’s standard of polished, purposeful design
- Collaborates with the Multi-Media Designer on storytelling through photography, short-form, and long-from video
- Provides design direction for campaign shoots, social media content, digital ads, and internal branding initiatives
- Partners with marketing leads to brainstorm visual strategy for seasonal promotions, LTOs, and openings
- Stays ahead of design trends in hotels, restaurants, and travel in the eyes of a creative visionary
- Brings fresh, elevated ideas to the table that push our creative standards forward
- Regularly audits our visual presence across channels and recommend areas of improvement or evolution
- Infuses each project with thoughtful, forward-thinking creativity that sets Flagship apart
- 5–8 years of professional design experience, preferably within hospitality, lifestyle brands, agencies, or multi-brand environments
- A true restaurant enthusiast and creative foodie who is inspired by restaurant culture, menus, interiors, and guest experience
- A designer who sees restaurant marketing as an art form and constantly looks for ways to push it forward in fresh, innovative ways
- Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring designers and guiding creative direction across projects
- Deep understanding of brand identity systems including typography, color, layout, and storytelling across print and digital
- A highly organized creative leader who can balance big-picture vision with the everyday execution that keeps restaurants running
- A collaborative partner who works seamlessly with marketing, culinary, and operations teams
- A designer who is curious, trend-aware, and constantly seeking inspiration from restaurants, hotels, travel, and culture
- Passion for building brands that feel alive in the real world, not just on a screen
- Experience working with restaurant groups, hospitality brands, or food and beverage concepts
- Strong understanding of restaurant marketing touchpoints including menus, in-restaurant signage, campaign creative, and guest-facing collateral
- Experience designing for social media, digital campaigns, motion graphics, or video storytelling
- Experience managing creative workflows and delegating projects within a design team
- Understanding of production processes including printing, materials, and installation for in-restaurant assets
- Ability to translate brand strategy into compelling visual storytelling
