Business Assistant
Lakeside Dental - Omaha is looking for a Business Assistant to join our team.
Heartland Dental believes in providing exceptional lifetime care for patients. As a Business Assistant, you will support front‑office operations, ensuring patients and providers have a smooth experience while fostering a collaborative team culture.
Responsibilities- Greet and welcome patients as they enter the office
- Manage front‑office duties, including answering phones, checking office mail and email, and communicating with patients and insurance companies
- Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and record‑keeping
- Schedule and confirm appointments for multiple providers
- File patient insurance claims and follow up on outstanding claims, verify benefits, and explain coverage
- Post insurance and patient payments and process accounts receivable
- Review treatment plan fees and payment options with patients
- Partner with providers and the team to implement Heartland Dental systems to optimize office potential

- Experience working in a fast‑paced and customer‑centric environment
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to access and protect PHI as required, with regular HIPAA training
- 1+ years in a dental or medical setting
- 1+ years in insurance billing and accounts receivable
- Experience with Dentrix or other dental software
- Ability to perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- May need to lift up to 15 pounds at times
- Availability to attend virtual or in‑person training sessions periodically throughout the year
- TB test required for all new hires in dental office positions (except in FL & TN)
