PM&R cancer rehab focus at UNMC

The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) in Omaha is recruiting a physiatrist with an interest in cancer rehabilitation and a strong desire to further their academic careers and advance the science and education in the field. We are building a team that will place UNMC on the national and international stage for PM&R, creating an environment that will provide our patients with extraordinary care.

Madonna Rehabilitation Hospitals, our clinical partner, has a CARF-accredited inpatient unit and outpatient clinic. It is one of only three free-standing rehabilitation hospitals in the country with Long-term acute care (LTCH) and rehabilitation hospital levels of care under one roof. Madonnas cancer rehabilitation specialty program is one of just 14 such programs in the nation to be accredited by CARF, providing an opportunity to step into a program with a fully trained multidisciplinary cancer rehabilitation team.

The ideal candidate must be an MD/DO (or equivalent degree) who is board-certified/eligible in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. Candidates should have outstanding interpersonal skills, enthusiasm for patient care, and medical student and resident education.
