*** JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
** Adult Education Instructor provides high-quality instruction to adult learners. This role involves teaching foundational skills, such as reading, writing, math, and English language acquisition. Additionally, the role supports learners in preparing for high school equivalency exams (GED), postsecondary education, or entry into the workforce. The ideal candidate is student-focused, culturally responsive, and committed to students' personal and professional growth.
** ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:*
* • Plan and deliver engaging, student-centered lessons in adult basic education, GED, and English for speakers of other languages.
• Design instruction that supports diverse learning styles, language proficiencies, and academic needs.
• Integrate workforce preparation, digital literacy, and college readiness skills into classroom instruction.
• Utilize instructional technology and digital resources to enhance learning outcomes.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive classroom environment.
• Monitor and maintain accurate records of student attendance in accordance with program requirements.
• Collaborate with program staff, Student Services, and community partners to support student achievement and transitions.
• Participate in professional development, curriculum development, and weekly instructor touchpoints.

• Computer skills including proficient use of the internet, email, and word processing software

** MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
*** Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field required. Teaching, and/or training preferred. Basic working knowledge of microcomputers.
* Part time hours vary and are located at various centers/sites in the Omaha metro area.
* Official transcripts required at the time of hire.
** Compensation: $25/hr.
