Inspire people to discover their God given talents and develop their potential through artistic, educational, physical, and spiritual experiences in a Christ-centered atmosphere.

The Music Instructor will be responsible for teaching group and/or individual music lessons, developing curriculum and assessments, and establishing collaborative partnerships within the community.

• Responsible for teaching individual and/or group music lessons.
• Actively participates in and supports the School of Music every week, and Sunday Worship Praise Team as needed.
• Design and implement curriculum, assessment rubrics, and lesson plans for each course taught. Maintain a record and summary of activities on a regular basis.
• Develop and implement ongoing collaborative partnerships for music programming with schools and organizations.
• Actively participate in recruitment and outreach efforts.
• Teach additional classes and workshops as needed.
• Attend all required department and facility meetings and training as assigned.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's Degree in Music or equivalent qualified performance experience.
• Two to five years of teaching experience in a classroom setting or private/group lessons.
• Knowledge of music theory and curriculum design or evidence of experience in curriculum development.
• A record of musical performance experience.

• Demonstrated initiative and self-motivation.
• Performance experience in the individual content area of teaching.
• Start class on time with appropriate room setup and reset as required.
• Working knowledge of music literature.
• Philosophy of education and child development aligned with The Salvation Army.
• Positive attitude and willingness to promote the mission of the Salvation Army.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• English proficiency required;
  Spanish helpful.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
• Exceptional flexibility and ability to manage multiple projects or tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to collaborate and work within a team.
• Attention to detail, creative problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to handle confidential matters.
• Strong independent judgment.
• General computer knowledge to access payroll, timekeeping, and personal data via a web-based system.

Must pass all applicable background checks. Must possess a valid driver's license from the state of residence. Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business.

Must successfully complete Safe from Harm training within 30 days of hire as established by The Salvation Army.
