Alpha School OverviewAlpha School is implementing an AI-powered reading program that redefines early literacy instruction. You will facilitate targeted, high-impact workshops instead of traditional hour-long instructional blocks. Your role involves diagnosing learner needs, developing original evidence-based lessons without relying on pre-built materials, and contributing to adaptive tools that extend your expertise to hundreds of students. What You Will Be Doing- Facilitating adaptive reading workshops focused on foundational competencies including phonics, fluency, and comprehension
- Creating personalized, motivational sessions that engage students and foster a lasting passion for reading
- Reviewing student performance data to iteratively improve instructional methods and identify meaningful insights
- Partnering with the technology team to assess and refine AI-based literacy tools
- Following pre-scripted lesson plans or published scope-and-sequence frameworks
Key Responsibilities
Cultivate a passion for reading in young students
Basic Requirements- Bachelor's degree
- Master's degree or advanced certification in reading instruction (e.g., Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience providing small-group reading interventions to early elementary students
- Capable of assessing reading levels, forming instructional groups, and creating differentiated instruction independently without reliance on pre-written curricula
- Comfortable using AI/adaptive learning tools and adjusting instruction based on student interactions within these platforms
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship requirements

Working with usThis is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $60 USD/hour, which equates to $120,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
