Job Title Instructor - Student Success Navigator Department Teacher Education Essential Functions

The University of Nebraska at Omaha's College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences is seeking a Student Success Navigator (Instructor) for our under graduate educator preparation programs in the Departments of Teacher Education. This individual will join a dynamic and growing area of educator preparation serving post-baccalaureate students seeking teacher certification in Early Childhood Inclusive, Elementary, Secondary, or Special Education. The Navigator will serve as a pivotal support role within UNO's traditional educator preparation programs, blending teaching, instructional coaching and supervision, and professional program cohort coordination to ensure candidate success, and program retention and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

* Teach undergraduate educator preparation coursework primarily to elementary teacher candidates.

* Provide individualized advising, mentoring and coaching to candidates, supporting both academic progress and professional growth as teacher candidates apply learning from the classroom to field experience in local schools.

* Conduct classroom observations and offer constructive feedback aligned with program goals and teaching standards (InTASC standards).

* Coordinate cohort-based events, professional development sessions, and community-building activities.

* Collaborate closely with course instructors associated with practicum, the Office of Field Experiences, and mentor teachers within local schools. Foster a culture of reflective practice and continuous improvement among candidates and faculty partners.

This is a full-time, benefits eligible nine (9) month position with an anticipated start date of August 17, 2026.
