Director of Learning & Development, Alpha

You will combine expert‑level coaching ability with dynamic facilitation skills, transforming workshops, data‑focused team sessions, and precise feedback into powerful development experiences. • Developing and coaching Guides to deliver Alpha's workshops at an elite performance standard
• Building comprehensive Guide Playbooks that document facilitation best practices, effective learning activity design, and solutions to common obstacles
• Delivering consistent, results‑focused feedback to Guides that enhances student participation and learning outcomes
• Coaching a small student cohort directly, demonstrating advanced motivation and mentorship techniques

• Developing traditional lesson plans – your Guides enable student learning through adaptive technology; you concentrate on preparing them to become outstanding motivators
• Compromising on excellence – when the success threshold is 100%, maintaining that standard is your responsibility
• Running dull training sessions – you will develop Guides through dynamic, energizing, experiential learning

Develop Guides and students so that every learner in your cohort is excited about school, progresses at 2× the typical rate, and achieves mastery of life skills. Accept no compromises.

• Currently residing in or prepared to relocate for on‑site work at one of Alpha's Campuses (Bethesda, MD; Chicago, IL; Palo Alto, CA; Piedmont, CA)
• Hold a Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in education, learning and development, coaching, or closely related areas.
• Proven track record designing and executing innovative educational programs, curriculum projects, or training systems.
• Exceptional leadership and coaching capabilities with experience building, leading, and energizing high‑performing teams.
• Background working with young people (ages 5-18) in educational or developmental settings.
• Skilled in data analysis and leveraging performance metrics to inform decisions and drive ongoing improvement.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States

This is a full‑time (40 hours per week), long‑term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $100 USD/hour, which equates to $200,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
