POSITION:
Head Boys Wrestling Coach ~ WHS

DESCRIPTION: Instruct student athletes in the fundamentals, strategies, rules, and physical training needed for individual and team success in wrestling. Promote participation, self-confidence, work ethic, and good sportsmanship in each student involved.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: This position reports directly to the WHS Athletic Director.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• High school wrestling coaching experience.
• Knowledgeable about the rules and fundamental techniques required of high school wrestling.
• Ability to obtain current CPR / First Aid when applicable.
• Ability to work effectively with sport coaching staff, parents, and school staff

• Complies with department / district policies.
• Maintains consistent communication with Athletic Director.
• Develop positive self image with athletes.
• Utilize sound teaching methods to develop skills / techniques.
• Demonstrate public support / loyalty for coaches.
• Demonstrate positive team sportsmanship toward opponents and officials.
• Demonstrates effective management of pre-contest details.
• Help to maintain a comprehensive year round wrestling program.
• Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.

• Work with parents and children of diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Develop effective working relationships with students, staff, and the school community.
• Ability to work with girls wrestling program and local club wrestling program
• Perform duties with awareness of all District requirements and Board of Education policies.
