Overview

Applications are being accepted for a 7 hour per day Special Education Life Skills Paraprofessional position at Bellevue East High School. The special education paraprofessional works under the direction and supervision of a teacher or other designated member of the school staff. The paraprofessional helps special education students acquire skills and competencies taught by the classroom teacher.

• Supervising and working with students both one on one and in small groups when needed, assisting the teacher in the classroom.
• Lifting, giving physical assistance, assisting in the lunchroom, and with toileting, transportation, and recreational activities in all areas of the building.

• Applicant must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of himself/herself or others with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Applicant must be capable of regularly attending to the duties of the position assigned for the duration of the assignment.

This position is subject to a veterans preference. Duty hours are typically Monday through Friday, from 7:40 a.m. to 3:10 p.m.
