• Assist with lesson and activities, as determined by the classroom teacher, using developmentally appropriate and play-based practices.
• Support early learning skills including language development, early literacy, and social emotional growth.
• Help guide students through daily routines such as arrival, transitions, snack, rest time, and dismissal.
• Organize classroom and prep work for the teacher.
• Perform clerical duties such as filing, copying, and bulletin boards.
• Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with students, parents, and staff.
• Provide active supervision to ensure student safety in the classroom, playground, and during transitions.
• Assist with basic care needs while promoting student independence.

• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Provide instructional reinforcement of lesson plans under the direction of the classroom teacher.
  • Serve as a positive, nurturing guide for students.
  • Model the school's professional and ethical standards when interacting with students, parents, staff, and community members.
  • Supervise students in both instructional and assessment activities in and out of the classroom.
• Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Experience working with students, preferred
  • Effective communication skills with adults and children
  • Understanding of basic principles of childhood development
  • Must complete a background check and the Archdiocese of Omaha Safe Environmental training
  • Strong understanding of and commitment to living out the Catholic faith
