Position: 4-H Extension Assistant (Scottsbluff, NE)

4‑H Extension Assistant (Scottsbluff, NE)

4‑H is America’s largest youth development organization—welcoming young people of all beliefs and backgrounds and giving kids a voice to express who they are and how they make their lives and communities better. 4‑H provides experiences where young people learn by doing.

Responsibilities
  • Transform lives by delivering, teaching, and managing effective educational programming in 4‑H, providing positive youth development to include current and emerging youth issues in the assigned area.
  • Engage youth through diverse learning strategies at appropriate places and times.
  • Travel within the service area.

This position is based in Scottsbluff, NE and serves Scotts Bluff County. Valid driver’s license and ability to meet University driving criteria is required.

Minimum

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required; degree must be completed by the start date.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach, keep accurate records, and prepare reports.
  • Driver’s license and ability to meet University driving criteria is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in youth development, education, agriculture, human sciences, or closely related field.
  • Experience working with youth through other organizations as an employee or volunteer.
  • Previous 4‑H or teaching experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of spreadsheet and data management software.
  • Self‑starter with excellent organizational skills.
Additional Requirements
  • Pre‑Placement Driving Record Review

    Required:

    Yes.
  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required. Subject to DOT approved pre‑employment & random testing for alcohol and controlled substances.
  • Criminal History Background Check

    Required:

    Yes.
Salary

$40,000 per year.
