The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Nebraska‑Lincoln (OLLI) is a membership‑based lifelong learning program for adults 50+ that offers noncredit courses, lectures, events, and travel opportunities.
Responsibilities- Plan and manage all aspects of event offerings from small luncheons to programs with 25–300+ attendees.
- Serve as primary contact for event requirements.
- Oversee planning, content, logistics, and budgets for annual and special events.
- Work with volunteer committees, manage schedules, and supervise volunteers.
- Handle correspondence, assist with securing presenters, entertainers, and seek member input.
The position requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree plus two years of experience in event planning, hospitality, or related work.
- Associate degree plus four years of experience in event planning, hospitality, or related work.
- High school diploma or equivalency plus six years of experience in event planning, hospitality, or related work.
- Excellent computer skills, including MS Office, presentation software, and database management.
- Proficiency in hosting and managing virtual events on Zoom or similar platform.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and flexibility in performing work assignments.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet University driver eligibility requirements.
- Experience working in a non‑profit, academic, or lifelong learning community environment.
- Experience working with volunteers.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles.
