Graduate Assistant Athletics Compliance

Job Description

Creighton University Athletics is actively seeking a Graduate Assistant to work as part of our Athletics Compliance Office. This position will work closely with the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Compliance and the Director of Compliance in tasks related to running an athletics compliance office at a Division I university. These tasks may include monitoring, research, educational presentations, and data review.

We are looking for a well‑organized, responsible, and curious individual to help maintain the standards of compliance as required by the Big East and the NCAA.

A Graduate Assistant in the Creighton Athletics Compliance Office should expect to be involved in a wide range of duties, including, but not limited to:

• Assist in evaluating prospective student‑athletes’ applications and transcripts to ensure initial academic eligibility
• Monitoring prospective student‑athlete recruitment (phone calls, text messaging, social media, contacts, evaluations, official and unofficial visits, and tryouts)
• Monitoring student‑athletes’ countable athletically related activities (CARA)
• Drafting and presenting educational material for coaches, staff, and student‑athletes
• Assist in the creation, review, and monitoring of athletic financial aid agreements
• Updating and assigning compliance‑related forms in Teamworks Compliance + Recruiting
• Help maintain team rosters, track student managers and assist with NCAA personnel legislation.
• Using various software programs to assist with data entry and management
• Other duties as assigned

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
• Admission to and full‑time enrollment in a Creighton University graduate program
• Available for the entirety of a graduate program (i.e., two‑year period)
• High level of initiative and the ability to work independently
• Ability to maintain confidentiality with all aspects of the position
  
  Prior experience in NCAA Compliance, especially at the Division I level

Additionally, the ideal candidate will be a self‑starter who possesses strong written and verbal communication skills. Familiarity with Teamworks Hub and Teamworks Compliance + Recruiting is preferred, but not required.
