The Bilingual School Support Coordinator supports the Book Loop mission of ensuring students have a book to read at home every single night. The School Support Coordinator is responsible for supporting Book Loop teachers by managing the school support cycle and maintaining program data. The goal is to expose students to reading and give them the opportunity to have a great book to read every day.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesEssential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. The position requires reliable transportation for daily transportation to and from program locations; mileage is reimbursed at the IRS rate. This position also requires occasional lifting of up to 35 pounds.
- Implementation of Book Loop Mission and Strategy – Support Book Loop by working with and supporting teachers and school system staff to introduce Book Loop’s classroom-based program and respond to their needs in providing Book Loop books to students.
- Organizational Support – Creates and maintains teacher resource material and document templates.
- Organizational Operations – Collects, inputs, and analyzes program data. Maintains Book Loop inventory of materials. Collaborates with staff to carry out program activities.
- School Community Relations – Plans and conducts school visits. Communicates with and provides support to school leadership, teachers, and support staff for delivery of the Book Loop program.
This position reports directly to the Director of Programs.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Professional Qualifications,Education and Experience Needed
- High School degree or equivalent
- One or more years of customer engagement, classroom support, or similar experience
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, in both English and Spanish
- Experience in assisting with technology applications and hardware
- Ability to develop short-term plans and manage multiple priorities
- Strong work ethic with a high degree of energy
This position follows the OPS elementary student calendar and is a renewable 10-month position. Start date is August 3, 2026, end date is May 31, 2027, with return on August 1, 2027. The non-working days of this position mirror the non-student attendance days of OPS.
