Description of WorkThe Director of Graduate Academic Services and Associate Registrar provides strategic leadership for the administration of graduate education, overseeing the effective management of academic milestones, degree requirements, and student records for master’s and doctoral programs. The role supervises program milestone coordinators, manages graduate curriculum processes, and maintains the Graduate Catalog. The position works closely with campus partners such as the Registrar, Student Accounts, and Payroll to enhance service delivery, support student retention, and streamline administrative systems.
The position leads planning and execution of graduate commencement ceremonies in collaboration with institutional committees, and partners with academic leadership to implement new initiatives. This position reports to the Associate Vice Chancellor and Dean of Graduate Education and plays a central role in delivering high-quality graduate education services through operational leadership, cross‑campus collaboration, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

MinimumRequired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of experience in higher education OR Master’s degree and 5 years of experience in higher education.
- Experience with records and registration or other academic services.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- At least one year of supervisory experience.
- Ability to interpret policy to guide decisions.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience in a university registrar office
- Knowledge of University processes and policies
- Experience with graduate academic documents such as theses and dissertations and course syllabi.
- Proficiency in university systems such as People Soft, MyRed, and CIM
