Job Summary
Provide effective student instruction to meet course objectives.
Responsibilities- Demonstrate effective instructional methodology.
- Command of the subject and use of effective teaching/learning methods.
- In conjunction with Program Director and/or Course Coordinator, facilitate clear formulation of learning objectives/outcomes through thorough course planning and preparation for classroom, laboratory, and/or clinical sessions.
- Communicate with students and challenge them to go beyond required learning.
- Implement course through a variety of instructional methods to foster a stimulating environment.
- Present material with integrity, open‑mindedness, and objectivity.
- Relate subject to other areas of knowledge.
- Collaborate with other faculty in curriculum development.
- Assess student learning systematically.
- Provide constructive feedback in a timely manner to foster professional development.
- Maintain punctuality and reliability in conducting classes.
- Revise courses as needed to increase effectiveness.
- Demonstrate interpersonal and team skills.
- Support collegiality by behaving professionally with faculty, staff, and administration.
- Respond to communications and requests promptly.
- Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to mission, vision, core values, and standards of behavior.
- Participate in required meetings and events.
- Fulfill mandatory job requirements such as submission of syllabi, grades, AOR, and maintenance of certification.
Saturdays.
Job Requirements- Completion of a terminal degree in the discipline from a regionally accredited institution, with a minimum of 18 semester hours in the content‑specific related field; a master’s and/or doctoral degree is preferred.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in the program assignment area; one or more years of post‑secondary teaching experience is preferred.
Where appropriate, Nebraska licensure and national certifications are required.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities- Academic instruction, reading, analyzing, interpreting, and grading assignments in a higher educational environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency with personal computers and standard office applications.
- Knowledge of various teaching methods and adult learning styles.
- Effective use of resources including time, information, and available services.
- Knowledge of and support for the College mission statement and its values.
- Light Work:
Exert up to 20 pounds of force, and for faculty involved in clinical assignments, up to 50 pounds of force. - Occasional Activities (1%–33%):
Balancing, climbing, carrying, crawling, crouching, kneeling, lifting, pulling/pushing, reaching, standing, stooping/bending, twisting, walking. - Frequently Performed (34%–66%):
Hearing, repetitive motions, seeing/visual, speaking/talking. - Constantly Performed (67%–100%):
Fingering/touching, grasping, keyboarding/typing, sitting.
Non‑related biological agents, physical hazards (noise, temperature, lighting, wet floors, outdoors, sharps), and equipment/machinery hazards. Exposure to chemicals such as toxic, corrosive, flammable, latex, and mechanical vibrations may occur occasionally.
