Minimum Employment QualificationsMust possess a valid NE Teaching Certificate or NE Administrative and Supervisory Certificate or a NE Special Services Certificate endorsed in coaching.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree, with emphasis in Education preferred
- Current or prospective employment as a teacher in the Omaha Public Schools and the identified site preferred
- Must meet Nebraska School Activities Association guidelines, which include a Nebraska Teaching Certificate and/or a Special Services Certificate with endorsement in coaching.
- High School coaching experience in girls soccer, with prior head coaching experience preferred
- Deep knowledge of the sport and ability to foster positive human relationships with students, staff, parents, and community
- Demonstrated high standards of professional ethics and conduct
- Lead the athletics program for girls soccer at all levels, ensuring safety and well‑being of all student participants.
- Set and maintain high expectations for learning and classroom performance as a condition for athletic participation; monitor and support student academic performance.
- Set and maintain high behavioral expectations for student athletes and staff; promote hospitality, sportsmanship, and fair play.
- Develop and communicate an approved plan for supporting student behavior, including consequences for unacceptable behavior; implement it consistently and fairly.
- Develop and implement a cohesive program that teaches skills and promotes team play through instruction, practice, and competition.
- Apply and uphold eligibility criteria for student athletes as determined by the school, district, Metropolitan High School Activities Association, and Nebraska School Activities Association.
- Assist the Athletic Director and the building principal in selecting, assigning, supervising, developing, and evaluating staff at all program levels.
- Promote the program through district‑approved activities with elementary and middle school students to develop early interest in soccer.
- Assist student athletes seeking higher education and athletics beyond high school in understanding opportunities, pursuing scholarships, and selecting appropriate options.
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, parents, and the public; follow district guidelines in media communication.
