SummaryUnder the general supervision of the Program Director/Program Administrator, the instructor provides Certified Nursing Aide (CNA) and Certified Medication Aide (CMA) students with the nursing theory and clinical instruction needed to pass the CNA/CMA Certification written and skills examinations and prepare students for employment.
The instructor will follow the curriculum provided by Quality Career Pathways while providing feedback and suggestions to Quality Career Pathways on improvement or changes for the curriculum to better assist the students in preparing for the certification exam. The instructor clearly explains both the theoretical and practical aspects of the CNA’s job functions that would relate to placement in different types of settings and is responsible for evaluating student progress through observation, skill competency sign off, and testing.
EssentialFunctions
- Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom lecture and discussion through critical thinking healthcare theory.
- Follow syllabus, providing feedback as necessary.
- Discuss and physically demonstrate required hands‑on skills.
- Evaluate students’ clinical skills, class work and assignments.
- Check off students’ competency of C.N.A and C.M.A. skills.
- Apply strong interpersonal and communication skills at all levels – written, verbal, presentation modalities – and comfort educating/providing staff resources and support.
- Deliver classroom and clinical instruction in accordance with state and federal CNA training regulations.
- Collaborate with other Registered Nurses (RN) to address teaching, curricula, course content, course materials and methods of instruction.
- Identify students who are having difficulty with the material and provide a different learning approach to help them better comprehend the material.
