Position: Student Worker: Tutoring & Lab Support

The following positions are available for Clarkson College students to work up to 19 hours per week.

Educational Assistant – Pinewood Elementary School

Support elementary‑aged students with reading and math comprehension, fluency, and literacy skills.

  • Provide academic support and mentorship.
  • Collaborate with the school principal, teachers, and after‑school program directors to create a nurturing learning environment.
  • Select work schedule each semester in conjunction with the principal.
Required Qualifications
  • Must be able to travel to and complete work hours on‑site at Pinewood Elementary School.
  • Desire to work with children and support the classroom teacher.
  • Previous experience with elementary students in tutoring, mentoring or teaching preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
  • Reliable, punctual, committed to scheduled hours.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
After‑School Reading Tutoring Assistant

Provide tutoring for reading to elementary‑aged students at local agencies.

  • Assist with reading comprehension, fluency, and literacy skills.
  • Work closely with school site directors and after‑school program directors.
Required Qualifications
  • Desire to work with children and develop their reading and literacy skills.
  • Previous experience with elementary students in tutoring, mentoring or teaching preferred.
  • Patience, empathy, motivation, and inspiration.
