Grades: Seeking a 3rd grade and 4th grade teacher
Reports to: Legacy School Administration
Position Description: The Teacher is responsible for creating an educational environment where students can reach their full potential across cognitive, emotional, physical, and language development. This includes organizing and implementing instructional programs aligned with Legacy School standards to ensure academic success.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Implement instructional activities that promote active engagement and meaningful learning experiences.
- Select and modify instructional resources to meet diverse student needs, backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.
- Conduct ongoing assessments of student growth through various informal and formal methods.
- Maintain effective record-keeping procedures.
- Create a positive environment encouraging student participation.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Collaborate with peers to improve instructional quality.
- Report concerns to administration promptly.
- Manage student behaviors effectively.
- Model professional and ethical standards in interactions.
- Ensure continuous and developmentally appropriate student growth and achievement.
- Build cooperative relationships with students, parents, and staff.
- Meet inservice hours requirements.
- Participate in staff training, meetings, and school events.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education, Certifications, and Experience:
- College Degree in Education
- Teaching experience valued
- Current Nebraska Teaching Certificate
Technical Skills:
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Self-motivated and responsible
- Basic computer skills
- Effective multitasking and time management skills
Working Conditions:
- Physical ability to stand, walk, sit on the floor, and lift light objects
- Visual perception and discrimination
