Classification Regular Minimum Pay $22.70
Compensation will be commensurate with the level of the position, education, and experience.
Job SummaryThe Recruitment Specialist serves as a field recruiter and outreach representative. This position develops relationships and is the first point of contact for individuals in the suspect-to-college applicant conversion journey. The Specialist engages high schools, employers, community agencies, and the public through recruitment and outreach activities and events.
Essential Position Functions- Executes outreach and recruitment activities for assigned targets in all modalities: on‑campus, off‑campus, and virtually.
- presents the college’s value proposition, features and benefits to prospective students, parents, school counselors, employers and community agencies.
- provides information to prospective students interested in MCC programs and assists them through the application process.
- develops ongoing relationships with prospect groups and internal relationships across the College to connect students to services.
- consistently and accurately uses the Customer Relations Management (CRM) system to manage contacts and activities with prospects.
- assists with college campus visits, recruitment, training and coordination of Brand Ambassador support for group tours.
- completes training activities as assigned.
- models a friendly and supportive attitude to help create a positive climate for staff and the public.
- attends work activities or programs as scheduled or assigned.
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of recruitment, outreach or customer relationship management functions.
- Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn new software.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and other college supported systems.
- Excellent communication skills including active listening.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work well with minimal supervision in a team‑oriented environment.
- Ability to demonstrate cooperation and professionalism in stressful situations.
- Ability to effectively work and interact with various cultures and ethnicities.
- Willingness to work some evening and weekend hours.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds on occasion.
Education and Experience
- Associate degree in Communications, Marketing, Education, Management or related field required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Two (2) years of recruiting, sales, marketing, admissions, outreach or customer service–related experience.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and/or work experience considered.
- Valid driver’s license and insurability to drive college vehicles required.
- Must pass a background check.
