Educare of Omaha, Inc. is a non‑profit organization that has a collaborative partnership between Early Head Start/Head Start, Omaha Public Schools and the Buffett Early Childhood Fund. Comprised of the two Educare Omaha Schools (Kellom and Indian Hill) and three Early Learning Centers (Skinner, Gateway and Kennedy), the mission of Educare of Omaha, Inc. is to promote school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of children ages 0 to 5 through the provision of evidence‑based education, health, nutritional, social, family engagement and other services to enrolled children and their families.

The South Family Engagement Manager provides leadership and supervision for family engagement and home visitation services within Educare Omaha at Indian Hill and Early Learning Center s position ensures the implementation of comprehensive family engagement practices that strengthen family well‑being, promote positive parent‑child relationships, support family stability, and increase parents’ active involvement in their child’s learning and development.

The South Family Engagement Manager leads a team of Family Engagement Staff to develop strong partnerships with families, identify family strengths and needs, coordinate resources, and support families in achieving self‑identified goals. The position is a member of the school leadership team and works collaboratively with education, health including mental health, special education, and community partners to ensure integrated services that support positive child and family outcomes.

This position directly relates to the active supervision, training, and adherence to regulatory policies and procedures as it relates to Performance Standards, grant, and state licensing requirements.

Full‑Time (40 hours per week, Monday‑Friday); 12‑month schedule;
Exempt. The typical work schedule is 8:00am‑5:00pm but will vary based on the needs of the school and the organization. Occasional required evenings and weekends.

Educare of Omaha at Indian Hill (3110 W Street, Omaha, NE 68107) but serves both South locations.

Leadership and Family Engagement Programming

  • Provide day‑to‑day leadership, coaching, and reflective supervision to Family Engagement Staff.
  • Ensure high‑quality intensive family engagement is provided to all enrolled families.
  • Establish performance expectations and periodically monitor staff's effectiveness through observations at home visits, engagement events, and provide performance evaluations.
  • Facilitate regular school level family engagement meetings and professional development opportunities to increase their knowledge of child development, including training in proactive, positive approaches to discipline and intervention with children and families with challenging behaviors.
  • Ensure PIR (Program Information Report) information is entered for all families.
  • Lead the internal planning and subsequent involvement of parents in all their children’s program transitions, i.e., into the program, from EHS to HS and from HS to kindergarten.
  • Support FACE Specialists in the use of child screening, assessment, and progress data to inform the development of goals in the Family Partnership Agreement.
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation of family engagement activities, referrals, and family partnership goals.
  • Ensure and lead Parent Committees at their site.
  • Conduct data debriefs with FACE team on results from program assessments and family outcome results to ensure intentionality in attempts to improve program outcomes.
  • Support staff in addressing barriers that may impact children’s attendance, family engagement, or family well‑being.
