Creighton University School of Dentistry is seeking a full-time, tenure‑track Assistant/Associate Professor to assist in teaching anatomical sciences.
This 12-month tenure‑track position is a primary appointment within the Department of Oral Biology with CUSOD performance guidelines for Teaching‑Research – Basic Sciences.
Within a team‑teaching setting, responsibilities include participating in lectures, labs, student assessments, and exam administration to dental students in their respective areas as well as opportunities for teaching and/or advising Master’s level students. Additional expectations include active participation in collaborative research within their area of expertise and/or evidence of productivity in the scholarship of teaching and learning of anatomy education by dissemination of peer‑reviewed publications and presentations.
The position provides an opportunity to collaborate on curriculum development, develop educational resources, present continuing education programs, and mentor undergraduate, graduate, and dental students in scholarly activity. Participation in departmental meetings, academic service committees, and professional societies to maintain expertise is expected of all full-time faculty members.
Required Qualifications- PhD., DDS, or equivalent doctoral degree.
- Demonstrated ability to function as an independent educator in the anatomical sciences, and cadaver‑based dissection.
- Evidence of scholarly activity.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Effective organizational, planning, and presentation skills.
- Ability to analyze, create action plans, and manage projects independently.
- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work collaboratively as a team.
- Ability to foster student learning, development and decision making.
- Ability to demonstrate empathy and compassion for the experiences of others.
- Comprehensive and strong background in anatomical science education such as gross anatomy, histology, physiology, neuroanatomy, biochemistry with prior experience teaching university or graduate‑level anatomy education.
