Special Education Resource Paraprofessional; PS

Overview

Applications are being accepted for a 6.5 hour per day Special Education Resource Paraprofessional position at Peter Sarpy Elementary School. The paraprofessional works under the supervision of a teacher or designated staff member. The role supports special education students in acquiring skills and competencies taught by the classroom teacher.

• Supervise and work with students one-on-one and in small groups as needed.
• Assist the teacher in the classroom.
• Provide lifting and physical assistance as required.
• Assist in the lunchroom, with toileting, transportation, and recreational activities in all areas of the building.

• Applicant must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of themselves or others with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Ability to regularly attend to duties for the duration of the assignment.
• Position subject to a veterans preference.

Duty hours are typically Monday through Friday, from 7:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.
