Quality Career Pathways is seeking a Registered Nurse Instructor to prepare the next generation of healthcare professionals. Your passion for nursing may help students launch meaningful careers as CNAs and CMAs.

Summary:

Under the general supervision of the Program Director/Program Administrator, provides Certified Nursing Aide (CNA) and Certified Medication Aide (CMA) students with the nursing theory and clinical instruction needed to pass the CNA/CMA Certification written and skills examinations and prepare students for employment.

The instructors will follow the curriculum provided by Quality Career Pathways while providing feedback and suggestions to Quality Career Pathways on improvement or changes for the curriculum to better assist the students in preparing for the certification exam. Clearly explain both the theoretical and practical aspects of the CNA’s job functions that would relate to placement in different type of settings.

Responsible for evaluating student progress through observation, skill competency sign off, and testing.

Essential Functions:
  • Initiate, facilitate and moderate classroom lecture and discussion through critical thinking healthcare theory.
  • Follow syllabus, providing feedback as necessary.
  • Discuss and physically demonstrating required hands-on skills
  • Evaluate student’s clinical skills, class work and assignments.
  • Checking off on student’s competency of C.N.A and C.M.A skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills at all levels-written, verbal, presentation modalities and comfort educating/providing staff resources and support.
  • Deliver classroom and clinical instruction in accordance with state and federal CNA training regulations.
  • Collaborate with other Registered Nurses (RN) to address teaching, curricula, course content, course materials and methods of instruction.
  • Ability to identify students who are having difficulty with the material and provide a different learning approach to help them better comprehend the material.

Qualifications:
  • Registered Nurse (RN) (Nebraska or Iowa) required
  • Prior teaching experience (preferred)
  • Supervised CNA's currently or in the past required
  • Flexible shifts available, including: days or weekends
