Classification Temporary Minimum Pay $17.58 Compensation will be commensurate with the level of the position, education, and experience.
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY This clerical position provides customer service to current and prospective international students by answering basic academic and immigration-related questions. The position is also responsible for reviewing prospective F-1 student applications to ensure they are complete and meet eligibility requirements before further processing.
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:
- Provide customer service support
a. Meet and greet all customers in the office
b. Use multi-line phone, PC’s, printers, copiers, fax machine and other office equipment
c. Respond to mailbox inquires - Assist prospective F-1 students through the application process
- Serve current F-1 students by answering basic academic and immigration questions that help students maintain their legal immigration status
- Ensure that the highest level of confidentiality is maintained in the International Student Services office based on FERPA and MCC policy, guidelines and procedures
- Use Ellucian/Colleague and Microsoft Office Suite
- Complete special projects as assigned
- Assume duties of Work Study in his/her absence
- Consistently and dependably attends work, activities, and functions as scheduled or assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Experienced user of all Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint
- Experienced in working with databases
- Previous customer service experience
- Multi-lingual is preferred but not required
- Possess previous multi-cultural experience

- Equivalent combination of education and/or work experience considered.
