Educare of Omaha, Inc. is a collaborative partnership between the Early Head Start/Head Start, Omaha Public Schools and the Buffett Early Childhood Fund. Comprised of the two Educare Omaha Schools (Kellom and Indian Hill) and the three Early Learning Centers (Skinner, Gateway and Kennedy), the mission of Educare of Omaha, Inc. is to promote school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of children ages 0 to 5 years through the provision of evidence-based education, health, nutritional, social, family engagement and other services to enrolled children and their families.

The Mentor Teacher Supervisor provides instructional leadership, supervision, coaching, and performance management for classroom teaching staff. This position is responsible for building educator capacity through reflective supervision, job-embedded coaching, data-driven instructional support, and professional development to ensure the consistent implementation of high-quality teaching practices that improve child outcomes.

The Mentor Teacher Supervisor partners with teachers, families, specialists, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure children receive individualized, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate learning experiences. The position also assists with coordination of services for children with disabilities, developmental concerns, and social-emotional or mental health needs while ensuring compliance with Educare of Omaha standards, Head Start Performance Standards, Sixpence requirements, Nebraska licensing regulations, and accreditation expectations.

Success in this role is measured by improvements in instructional quality, staff development, classroom outcomes, school readiness, compliance, and the effectiveness of coaching relationships.

Full Time (40 hours per week, Monday-Friday); 12 Months;
Exempt. A typical Monday-Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m.

-5:00 p.m. and flexibility as needed to meet organizational needs.

Instructional Leadership & Program Quality

  • Lead the implementation of high-quality instructional practices across assigned classrooms aligned with Educare of Omaha's instructional model, curriculum, and school readiness goals.
  • Conduct regular classroom observations utilizing CLASS, curriculum fidelity tools, environmental rating scales (ITERS/ECERS), and other approved monitoring instruments.
  • Provide individualized coaching cycles that include observation, reflective feedback, collaborative goal setting, modeling, implementation support, and follow-up.
  • Develop teachers' instructional capacity through reflective supervision and evidence-based coaching practices.
  • Review lesson plans, child assessment data, and classroom documentation to ensure instruction is intentional, individualized, culturally responsive, and developmentally appropriate.
  • Support teachers in analyzing child outcome data to develop instructional strategies that improve school readiness outcomes.
  • Model effective instructional strategies, language-rich interactions, inclusive practices, positive behavior supports, and social-emotional teaching techniques.
  • Ensure classroom environments promote safety, engagement, inclusion, and high-quality learning experiences.
  • Monitor implementation of curriculum, assessment systems, individualized learning plans, and program expectations.
  • Ensure classrooms maintain required teacher-child ratios and provide classroom support as operationally necessary.
  • Complete assigned monitoring activities, documentation, and corrective action follow-up.

Coaching, Supervision & Staff Development

  • Supervise assigned teaching staff including Teachers, Associate Teachers, Teacher Aides, and other assigned instructional personnel.
  • Conduct reflective supervision meetings on a regular basis to support professional growth, well-being, and continuous improvement.
  • Complete introductory, annual, and ongoing performance evaluations in accordance with organizational expectations.
  • Develop individualized professional growth plans using classroom observation data, employee performance, and child outcome data.
  • Identify performance concerns early and implement coaching plans to improve instructional effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with the School Director to identify professional development priorities and implement targeted learning opportunities.
