Position: FT School-age Summer Teacher

Position Overview

School‑Age kids rock! If that’s how you feel, and you are fun, energetic and creative – then we have a job for you! We are currently looking for a School‑age Summer Teacher to work in a fun and exciting environment! The summer consists of exciting themes, awesome field trips, fun adventures, Leadership classes and more!

Responsibilities
  • Supervises and manages daily functions for a class of children
  • Plans with the Director and implements the approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule using the MHA School curriculum outlines and materials.
  • Provides an attractive, well‑kept classroom that encourages creativity, exploration, and decision‑making by the children
  • Ensures that all class bulletin boards are current and provides the parents with an overview of the material taught in class
  • Accepts responsibility for maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, common use areas, and playgrounds
  • Assists and coordinates snacks, meals, naptime, and bathroom activities
  • Attends all required staff meetings, workshops, and/or school functions as determined by the Director
  • Observes all rules and regulations pertaining to the health, safety, and care of children
  • Maintains a professional personal appearance, attitude, and work behavior at all times
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. (PERFERRED)
  • Must be able to interact appropriately with students ages 6‑12 years old as well as with parents, coworkers, and management.
  • Prior experience teaching children.
  • Physically fit and able to lift up to 70 pounds.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Able to attend meetings during evenings, as needed.
  • A keen interest in early child
Personal Qualities
  • Must be physically able to perform the job of a teacher of young children
  • Must have warm, supportive attitude toward children
  • Must be reliable
  • Must be flexible in receiving assignments or adapting to changes in program
  • Must be willing to accept supervision in order to improve work performance
  • Strong professional parent communication skills
  • Must LOVE to work with children
  • Ability to lift at least 35 lbs
