Position Overview
School‑Age kids rock! If that’s how you feel, and you are fun, energetic and creative – then we have a job for you! We are currently looking for a School‑age Summer Teacher to work in a fun and exciting environment! The summer consists of exciting themes, awesome field trips, fun adventures, Leadership classes and more!
Responsibilities- Supervises and manages daily functions for a class of children
- Plans with the Director and implements the approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule using the MHA School curriculum outlines and materials.
- Provides an attractive, well‑kept classroom that encourages creativity, exploration, and decision‑making by the children
- Ensures that all class bulletin boards are current and provides the parents with an overview of the material taught in class
- Accepts responsibility for maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, common use areas, and playgrounds
- Assists and coordinates snacks, meals, naptime, and bathroom activities
- Attends all required staff meetings, workshops, and/or school functions as determined by the Director
- Observes all rules and regulations pertaining to the health, safety, and care of children
- Maintains a professional personal appearance, attitude, and work behavior at all times
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. (PERFERRED)
- Must be able to interact appropriately with students ages 6‑12 years old as well as with parents, coworkers, and management.
- Prior experience teaching children.
- Physically fit and able to lift up to 70 pounds.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
- Able to attend meetings during evenings, as needed.
- A keen interest in early child
- Must be physically able to perform the job of a teacher of young children
- Must have warm, supportive attitude toward children
- Must be reliable
- Must be flexible in receiving assignments or adapting to changes in program
- Must be willing to accept supervision in order to improve work performance
- Strong professional parent communication skills
- Must LOVE to work with children
- Ability to lift at least 35 lbs
