Overview
Prime Air is seeking a Repair Technician who combines technical skills with a passion for maintaining machinery and aircraft. This individual will be responsible for drone maintenance and routine service, ensuring aircraft conform to design specifications and operate safely. The candidate will work closely with engineering, flight operations, and other Prime Air teams, and will be expected to work independently, be self‑starter, and possess strong analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities- Drive time‑based and condition‑based maintenance activities
- Show understanding of fleet performance metrics
- Verify adherence to FAA regulations and Prime Air directives and processes
- Manage fleet spare parts and inventory
- Demonstrate proactive safety mindset in ambiguous situations
- Follow detailed instructions outlined in technical manuals
- Carry/lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk during shifts up to 12 hours, and frequently push, pull, squat, bend and reach
- Work any shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Travel up to 25% of time
- Work flexible schedule/shift/work area, including outdoors in temperatures and refrigerated environments
This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon’s ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.
Drug and Alcohol TestingThis position may be subject to Department of Transportation drug and alcohol testing if conducting safety‑sensitive functions as defined by the FAA. Federal law also requires Amazon to determine an applicant’s DOT drug and alcohol testing history prior to hiring him or her into a position that would require them to conduct safety‑sensitive functions.
Basic Qualifications- 1+ years of mechanical and electrical integration or assembly experience
- Experience with common business applications and tools (Microsoft Office)
- Williness to work flexible schedules, including weekends, nights, and holidays
- Demonstrated record of good attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work in noise, variable temperatures, and outdoor conditions
- Experience installing sub‑assemblies and assemblies working to drawings or CAD files
- Experience in the aviation industry
- Business communication skills
- Robotics or manufacturing engineering experience
Pay ranges – USA, NE, Omaha: $21.00 - $44.00 USD per hour (subject to shift differential and location). Additional earnings include overtime pay, performance bonuses, and other benefits such as EAP, mental health support, medical advice line, and 401(k) matching.
