Bosch Building Technologies – BIM Manager

Overview

The BIM Manager is a hybrid position, reporting to the Director of Design. This role requires BIM modeling and coordination tasks daily, while assisting to develop and maintain Revit standards, families, project templates, workflows, and procedures within Paladin Technologies. In addition to 3D BIM work, the BIM Manager is also expected to assist with traditional 2D CAD work as needed, supporting corporate objectives by delivering high quality service to internal and external requestors.

Responsibilities
  • Work in both 2D and 3D drafting programs (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM
    360, Navisworks) to develop detailed models and drawings for Structured Cabling Systems, Outside Plant Infrastructure, Audio Visual Systems, Security Systems, DAS, and other low voltage disciplines.
  • Assist the Director of Design to develop and maintain BIM/AutoCAD standards, processes, libraries, families, and templates.
  • Lead and supervise modeling and documenting on projects; schedule and assign work to meet deliverables and dates.
  • Clean and purge background drawings/models for use in PTI Models.
  • Create models incorporating all appropriate trades models; work with project Coordinators and detailers.
  • Supervise and back-check others’ work for accuracy before passing to the project team.
  • Make recommendations to the Director of Design and VDC Manager related to the development of the Paladin BIM/AutoCAD program (software, training, hardware).
  • Provide 3D renderings of Conference Rooms, Data Centers, and IDF/MDF rooms for customer proposals using assets from the project Architect or design team.
  • Develop the BIM knowledge base related to BIM and the technologies Paladin Technologies installs for clients.
  • Attend BIM coordination meetings; collaborate with architectural firms, real estate developers, MEP consultants, and other modelers using project guidelines.
  • Be a project partner and ambassador, providing clear communications and support during clash resolutions in project models.
  • Identify and understand each project’s Design Intent, BIM Execution Plan, and Project Execution Plan as vital to success.
  • Perform Electronic Takeoffs as required using Autodesk applications or Bluebeam Revu.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication, soft skills, and the ability to teach others within the design group.
  • Develop and maintain skills in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM
    360, ACC, Navisworks, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam Revu.
  • Perform other design, drafting, modeling, or office tasks as directed by the Design Director; support the design group’s overall efforts and meet project deadlines per the BIM Execution Plan.
  • Ensure timely submittal of drawing sets in accordance with the BIM Execution Plan and Design Schedule; monitor due dates and request support as needed.
  • Demonstrate multitasking by managing multiple projects with accuracy, efficiency, and high-quality standards.
Supervisor Duties

In accordance with applicable company policies and laws, the BIM Manager will plan, assign, and direct work; coach and appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or equivalent experience.
  • 5–7 years of drafting and design experience in information technology, instrumentation and controls, electronics, and/or security industries.
  • Ability to create aesthetically pleasing, legible, and accessible drawings.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam Revu, IP networks, low voltage electronics, power and communications, Windows OS, Microsoft Office.
