About the PositionWe are seeking an Engineer, Mechanical II to join a Product Development team supporting innovative mechanical and electro-mechanical solutions for industrial and automation markets. This is a hands-on engineering position where you will contribute directly to the design, development, validation, and launch of customized customer applications.
In this role, you will collaborate with product development engineers, product management, manufacturing, and sales to bring new ideas from concept through completion. You’ll also provide guidance and technical direction to junior engineers and designers as part of the broader engineering organization.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, and test mechanical and electro-mechanical products from concept through production for custom customer applications
- Create detailed models, drawings, prototypes, and documentation for engineered solutions
- Process Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to support product improvements and custom designs
- Support new product launches and coordinate product transitions into established platforms
- Perform mechanical analysis and simulations (stress, fatigue, durability) to ensure design compliance
- Conduct design verification and validation activities to confirm products meet specifications
- Select appropriate materials and recommend manufacturing processes
- Participate in hands-on assembly, prototyping, and testing of mechanical systems
- Identify project and product risks and implement mitigation strategies throughout development
- Support corrective action investigations and permanent solution implementation
- Perform on-site inspections and support commissioning activities when needed
- Interpret and apply regulatory and safety codes including UL, NEC, and NFPA
- Uphold Quality and EHS policies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- 3–7 years of related mechanical engineering experience in product development or industrial design
- Strong understanding of the product development process, including risk assessment and mitigation
- Experience with mechanical system design, modeling, verification, and validation
- Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling tools
- Ability to perform design analysis such as FEA, functional modeling, and detailed reporting
