Position: ADMS Engineer I

ADMS Engineer

Are you passionate about advancing grid technology and solving complex engineering challenges? OPPD's Operational Technology Department is looking for an ADMS Engineer I with strong technical expertise, critical thinking skills, and a drive to innovate. In this role, you'll help ensure the safe and efficient operation of OPPD
¿ s Outage Management System (OMS) and Distribution Management System (DMS).

Responsibilities

As part of the ADMS Operations team, you'll provide technical support for Grid Operations and deliver engineering and project management expertise for the ADMS platform. This system empowers OPPD’s Distribution Operators to monitor, control, and optimize the electric grid, while managing outages and coordinating switching operations. Your work will directly impact reliability, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

  • Maintain and support ADMS applications, databases, and displays.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across ADMS platforms.
  • Assist with system integrations and field project tasks in coordination with EMS engineers.
  • Identify and address process gaps to improve ADMS operations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to implement changes that meet business needs.
  • Provide on-call support for ADMS Operations as needed.

The Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) group within Enterprise Operational Technology is dedicated to delivering engineering solutions that enhance reliability and drive grid modernization. We work closely with Operations and other technical teams to implement cutting‑edge technologies and solve complex challenges.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • ABET accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
  • Good oral/written communications and human relations skills
  • A valid driver's license
  • Programming skills in languages and applications such as C, C++, XML, SQL, JAVA, HTML, Python, Microsoft Office, current Linux/Windows Operating Systems, computer machine language and/or scripting languages
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous engineering experience related to District operations
  • Previous experience with above programming languages and/or applications
  • Power engineering emphasis
