Job Summary

Seeking a Fire Sprinkler Designer role, adept at designing various fire suppression systems and preparing detailed shop drawings, with a preference for AutoSPRINK, Hydro

CAD, or Sprink

CAD experience. Strong organizational skills, self-discipline, and a passion for safety, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.

Job Description
  • Design fire suppression systems including wet, dry, pre-action, and foam fire sprinkler systems
  • Perform detailed shop drawings (field installation drawings and hydraulic calculations), field engineering functions (on the jobsite support and review), and operation planning (field installation support)
  • Compile and prepare plan submittals (shop drawings) and material submittals for review by architects, engineers, clients, and authorities having jurisdiction. Coordinate fire sprinkler design with the building structure and other MEP subcontractors.
  • Prepare project material stock lists to be used for material procurement; assist with Field engineering troubleshooting and support for the installation operations on the jobsite; prepare "as-built" drawings for in-house archive and client files.
  • General understanding of job costs related to engineering, material and fabrication, and labor.
  • Work productively and meet deadlines timely.
  • Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.
  • Perform work safely and effectively.
  • Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
  • Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines.
  • Willing to teach.
Skills Required
  • Experience with AutoSPRlNK, Hydro

    CAD, or Sprink

    CAD; NICET certification strongly preferred.
  • Experienced with MS Excel, Word, and AutoCAD; preferred.
  • High level of self-discipline, motivation, and ability to operate in a team environment with strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team player, but able to work independently;
    Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative.
  • Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt.
  • Strong organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail
  • Regular, reliable attendance
  • We are not requiring sprinkler design experience, just preferred. Looking for design/CAD experience and we will teach them the sprinkler side.
Education/Training/Certifications
  • Qualifications:

    Associates degree in Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or related degree is preferred, but 6+ years of experience in design and construction in lieu of degree will be considered. 2+ years fire sprinkler design experience for construction is required.
Additional Requirements
  • Work overtime and weekends as required.
Pay Rate/Salary
  • Base Compensation: $22/hour - $30/hour (Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location.)
