Job Description The Safety Specialist will assist, plan, and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA, MSHA, and DOT standards. This role involves advising the Safety Director on compliance concerns and preventative actions, planning and implementing training for employees on worksite safety practices, and maintaining safety files and records.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development, evaluation, and upgrading of safety programs.
  • Perform safety surveys and inspections, preparing written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective or preventive measures.
  • Conduct post-accident investigations and prepare reports identifying possible causes and hazards.
  • Accompany personnel to job sites to perform drug tests.
  • Manage inspection of job sites, equipment, and vehicles to ensure safe working conditions.
  • Plan and implement employee training on worksite safety practices.
Essential Skills
  • At least 3 years of safety-related experience in the construction industry.
  • Experience with OSHA, First Aid/CPR, Confined Spaces, DOT, and/or Excavation safety.
  • Experience in writing detailed reports and procedures and documenting investigations.
  • Experience presenting to and training small groups on safety procedures and regulations.
  • Excellent computer and communication skills.
Additional

Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in an environmental and/or occupational health and safety-related field preferred.
  • Certified Health and Safety Technician (CHST) preferred.
  • Experience responding effectively to questions from groups, managers, and customers on safety topics.
Work Environment

The position is based in Omaha at a major data center location. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 7/8 AM to 4/5 PM. The dress code includes jeans, work boots, and work-appropriate t-shirts or sweatshirts. Safety gear such as high visibility vests, glasses, hard hats, and gloves are provided on site as needed. Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $95000.00/hr.
